Street Music Week 2018
6th annual event to help fight hunger in our community
June 11-15
Daily, 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Downtown Appleton (between Drew and Walnut Streets)

Enjoy live music, and make a difference! Local musicians will play music along College Ave. to raise cash donations for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

You can help us reach our goal of $7,000 this year, while you enjoy free summertime entertainment during your lunch!

Simply stroll College Ave., jam out and drop cash donations in the musicians’ large orange buckets.

For every $1 raised, Feeding America can provide up to three meals for those in need. Altogether in the previous five years, this annual event raised nearly $16,000 to fight local hunger.

New in 2018!
If you can’t make it during the lunch hour, we’ve added a convenient new performance. Join us Friday night (June 15, 5:00-8:00) as part of Appleton Downtown, Inc.’s free Art on the Town: Hidden Textures event.

As you walk College Ave. to enjoy artistic creations in front of local businesses, area musicians will also perform live on the sidewalk (Drew to Walnut Streets) to raise cash donations for Feeding America.

Plus, back by popular demand, Feeding America volunteers will be in attendance during the free Heid Music Summer Concert Series performance on Thursday night (June 14, 5:00-8:00 p.m.) and the Saturday-morning Farm Market (June 16, 8:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.), both in Downtown Appleton. You’ll see them toting large orange donation buckets through the crowds.

Donate at Participating Downtown Appleton Businesses
We understand that summers are busy and schedules get full. That’s why our 2018 campaign will feature another convenient way to get involved and give back. Select College Ave. businesses will feature donation buckets throughout the week so that, as you shop and dine, you can still make a difference and help us reach our goal! Just look for the orange Feeding America donation buckets.

Interested in Playing or Singing Along?
We’re seeking musicians to donate an hour of their time by playing live. But the best part is anyone can participate: beginning musicians, advanced performers, school students, professional artists, instrumentalists, vocalists, cover bands, garage bands, aspiring singers. Have karaoke in your veins? That’s cool, too!

To join the movement (Appleton is a Street Music Week sister city to Spokane, Wash.) and join with musicians across the country who are fighting against hunger, simply complete this easy online survey. Same-day walk-up reservations also welcome.

You can perform one day, or pick multiple days! We only ask that you play for a minimum of one hour each day.
If you’re interested in donating your musical talents during Friday’s Art on the Town, we’re accepting one-hour performance reservations (or play all three hours), from 5:00 to 8:00.
On the day of your performance, simply come to Heid Music Appleton to receive your musician packet, donation materials and sidewalk assignment.
You will be provided with all of the necessary donations materials, courtesy of Heid Music and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin; simply bring your instrument, vocal chords, sound equipment or anything else needed to perform live.
Musicians receive exclusive coupons good for discounts at participating area businesses.

Since its outset, iconic trio The Bad Plus has dared to be different, challenging all preconceived notions of jazz. Through a provocative style of arrangements and compositions they call “avant-garde populism”, their unique blend of influences, ranging from experimental jazz, indie rock, pop, and classical music has earned this “audacious, [...]
