October is Crime Prevention Month!! Saturday, October 20th, 2018 several area law enforcement agencies are hosting Crime Prevention Day, where it it will feature police demonstrations, hands on activities and entertainment. This event is free to the public, where the public can learn what’s happening to prevent crime in Manitowoc County.
Several different booths and activities will be on hand to keep families busy, with safety being the main focus. Such activities include, but not limited to, Mtanitowoc. Police Drone, K9 Units, child fingerprinting, picture taking, dental imprints, DNA Kit Making, Elder Rights Booth, along with many more. ThedaStar Air Medical Helicopter will be flying in around 11 a.m. Local celebrity Riley Haupt will kick off the event with the National Anthem, along with elementary school students entertaining throughout the day.
A pharmaceutical collection point will also be offered for anyone looking to safely dispose of drugs.
Any education an individual receives on ways of preventing crime is beneficial to community members and to learn how many resources are out there throughout the County.
