Agricultural Heritage and Resources
The Festival is always held on the first full weekend of August at our Heritage Agricultural Farm and Pavilion located 5 miles South of Kewaunee on State Highway 42. This year’s plans will include entertainment, food, dancing, singing, displays and baking demonstrations and vendors emphasizing our Czech Heritage & Culture throughout the two day celebration.
Activities will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning with arrival of the freshly baked kolaches. The baking of 13,000 or more kolaches begins on Friday 5:00 p.m. Friday evening and continuing throughout the night. The same process is repeated on Saturday and finishing on Sunday morning. The kolaches go on sale both mornings with all of your favorite homemade fillings available.
At 11:30 a.m., JoAnn Vogel, manager of the kolache baking will be in the pavilion to demonstrate and giving tips on how to make kolaches and the fillings.
