Season 9 of Jazz at The Trout kicks off on Thursday, October 18 with Janet Planet!

“Janet Planet is such an exemplary vocal artiste that anything she graces with her vocal chords benefits…she can sing sweet and pretty – but she can also come on strong with a big voice that never wavers out of control, even in a naked setting.” (Cadence Magazine)

Janet Planet remains active in all aspects of the music business as a performer, producer, teacher, recording artist, voice-over talent and commercial singer.

She’s performed at numerous jazz festivals and universities across the country where she conducts vocal master classes.

International performances include: Japan, Europe, South Africa and Russia.

She co-owns Steel Moon Recording Studio and Stellar Records with husband, Tom Washatka. With over 24 recordings in her discography the award winning singer won an Emmy for her work on “A Child Believes”. Planet has been recognized in her community with 6 WAMI awards and in 2014 she was the second woman in 32 years to be inducted in to the WAMI Hall Of Fame.

In 2017 “Janet Planet – Just Like A Woman – The Music Of Bob Dylan vol 2” appeared GRAMMY ballot.
